For the third consecutive year, Charity Navigator, the organization many consider to be the premiere independent charity evaluator, has issued the Georgia Partnership its highest rating.

The "four-star" review takes in to account several factors on which to judge an organization's overall financial well-being and efficiency.  To review Charity Navigator's Partnership evaluation, click here.

The report looks at organizational efficiency, which includes program, adminisitrative and fund raising expenses and organizational capacity, which considers primary revenue growth, program expenses growth and working capitol ratio.  The rating also includes a peer analysis, a breakdown of the Partnership's income statement, and a four-year trend analysis comparing revenue and expenses.

In announcing the rating, Georgia Partnership President Dr. Stephen Dolinger said, "The Partnership believes that it has a responsibility as a non-profit organization to be a good steward of all its resources.  We highly value being organizationally sound and publicly accountable.  This rating underscores our commitment to excellence."

The Charity Navigator Web site says it "works to guide intelligent giving.  We help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisons by providing information on over 3,900 charities and evaluating the financial health of these charities."

A letter from Charity Navigator's Executive Director Trent Stamp to the Georgia Partnership congratulating the organization on the top evaluation said, "As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard-earned dollars.    In this competitive philanthropic marketplace, Charity Navigator highlights the fine work of efficient charities such as your own, and provides donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make.

"Based on the most recent financial information available, we have calculated a new rating for your organization.  We are proud to announce the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education has earned our 4-star rating for its ability to manage and grow its finances.  Only 12 percent of  charities we've rated have received at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education outperforms most chairities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible.  This 'exceptional' rating from Charity Navigator differentiates Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.

"The New York Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, and NPR, among others, have profiled and celebrated our method of applying data-driven analysis to the charitable sector.  We evaluate 10 times more charities than our nearest competitor and currently attract more visitors to our Web site than all other charity rating groups combined, making us the largest charity evaluator in America.  Our irrefutable data shows that users of our site gave more than they planned to before viewing our findings, and in fact, last year Charity Navigator visitors to our site subsequently gave over $3 billion dollars in charitable gifts."
