South Route Ends After Visiting Six Top Schools

The south route of the 16th Annual Georgia Partnership Bus Trip Across Georgia ended Thursday, Nov. 20 after stops at six excelling schools representing the entire graduation pipeline.  More than 60 education stakeholders participated in the three-day journey.  The list of visited schools is posted on the right side of this page.

The north route, conducted Oct. 28 - 30, also provided a close look at seven schools and special programs making successful contributions along the route from Pre-K to high school. The theme for the 2008 tour was "Strengthening the Pipeline to Graduation."

We have started posting rider comments on the "Reflections" page.  Check out the comments!

Tour schools consider their selection an outstanding achievement and recognition for the hard work administrators, teachers, students, parents and other community members have performed.  Participants see schools in action and often take the good news stories and lessons learned back to their own community schools.  Not only is the annual event a celebration of achievement but it is also a chance to share best practices across Georgia.

What's the annual Bus Trip all about?  Should you consider attending?  Here's a short peek at the fun, exciting and informative tour.  This seven minute video was produced for the Partnership by Georgia Public Broadcasting.   Click here!  The longer production, 26 minutes, is nearing completion and should be available no later than May 21.

The 2007 Bus Trip was a rousing success.  Thanks to Georgia Public Broadcasting, here is the long version (27 minute) review of that trip.  Sit back, relax and join us on the road for Bus Trip XV.  Some viewers with Mac systems report not being able to access the video.  A Mac Quicktime (free) pluggin is available here.

If you don't have that long right now, here's a seven minute promotional video of the trip.  Should you be on board this year?  Maybe after viewing this you will say, "Yes!"  Bus Trip XV - short version
